The Spring of BELGRADE: the renascence of an important European capital
An important European capital is laboriously trying to rise from a no long but hard war. Its architecture and its huge green spaces, its historical and cultural importance, make Belgrade one of the most beautiful and charming European capitals. Unfortunately the unstable political situation after the war, has sent away the interest of foreign visitors and observers, but for the Belgrade's people have come again the time to enjoy the life and their town. In the central pedestrian Kneza Mihalia street boys and girls take a walk and stop in front of the book-stores and of the Italian fashion shops-windows. In the spring's week-ends people roam to the wonderful grass of Kalemegdan Fortress and of the town's parks. Many families and young couples sit on the Pubs along the Dunav river side in a finally relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, although the future is still uncertain. The intense cultural and artistic life seems to be never stopped: passion, research and experimentation characterize Belgrade's artistic vocation.
Now Belgrade is a lively European capital with an important university. Its beauty and its historical and cultural importance have not to be longer neglected from the rest of the word.
